Inktober Drawings Part 3

Writer: turtleferriesstudioturtleferriesstudio

This is it, the final post about Inktober 2020. We had a lot of fun drawing the monsters and adventurers fooling around in their natural habitats. If you've been following us on social media you might have seen that our grand announcement was in fact the beginning of a web comic we have had in the works for a while. We can't wait to share the rest of it with you and hope you stick around for the journey. Without further ado, here are the last of the Inktober drawings with extra commentary!

Day 21:

The Frog! How majestic and small! this one is a tree frog that our designer found on his door while getting home one night. We didn't even know tree frogs lived this far north but learning it was a pleasant surprise as was the visit from this little friend.

Day 22:

The Knight, previously featured losing his armor due to his own misfortune and to the fortune of the opportunistic mimic. He is constantly trying to find spare bits of armor and weapons from his adventures but this sword seemed like too much of a challenge this time.

Day 23:

Ah the giant mushrooms of the Green Lands; huge, tasty, and the perfect place to sit after a long day of doing whatever you want. These muddy feet belong to the mysterious and famous Lady of the Forests, who isn't really much of a lady but very much belongs in the forests!

Day 24:

Crabs are great. This one is self explanatory really. All praise the crabs!

Day 25:

This drawing has a bit of a story behind it. It is based on a very real raccoon named Chunk who likes to visit our artist on her back balcony. A couple nights a week they come visit to cause mischief and make a lot of noise, doing such things as: balancing on the railing and walking along it like its the whole circus, napping on the favorite chair, and dragging the nights haul up the stairs with its friends to have a party. Chunk is the instigator of the above shenanigans and is so named because they are the roundest, fattest, chunkiest raccoon we have ever seen. We love you Chunk.

Day 26:

Little plants on your desk or on your bedside table are really cute and calming but what if that little succulent you got could grow legs and start walking around. We're sure that if that happened they would still enjoy sitting in a nice pot of tasty dirt warming themselves in the sun. These little friends are playing hide and seek. They're very shy and easy to frighten so be careful!

Day 27:

Turtles, if you haven't realized, are very important to us at Turtle Ferries. So why not make an artistic rendition of a turtle with a little spooky surprise on it? Here's a Jack O Lantern hidden in the shell of a turtle we made to look like stained glass.

Day 28:

No Halloween is complete without a murder (of crows). Or just one. This one. Based on another character in the game, this crow is good with a knife...

Day 29:

Jack O Lanterns are the pinnacle of Halloween symbols. This Jack happens to be a very special one; its a monster in The Misadventures of Squish! The crow friend in the background didn't carve it, he just wanted to be in the picture.

Day 30:

This Inktober is very special to us as its a sneak peek at a game we have worked on as a project in school and one we intend to work on after the Misadventures of Squish. Its the first part of a series of horror games we plan to make. We can't give more information about it than that though, its a secret for now.

Day 31:

While its not the traditional Inktober that you've come to expect from us, we thought this would count as one. Its the cover for our new comic that's just been announced! The Misadventures of Squish the comic is based on all the characters from the game and will follow the lives of the monsters and the adventurers, and of course Squish! Follow the daily lives of monsters, learn about the adventures of the adventurers and keep up with the shenanigans of them all in this funny bone tickling comic! You can read it here on our website in the comics section, which is currently under construction. It'll be updated every other Sunday. We hope you enjoy it!
