Meet the Cast: Skeleton

Spooky scary skeletons! It may not be Halloween time yet but we're presenting the rattling battling skeletons of the Misadventures of Squish! The most hardened monster so far in our collection, the skeletons like to party, whether that means dancing to the skittering music of their bones clattering or beating up wandering adventurers that strayed into their abodes to loot the treasure they *literally* died for. Unlike most monsters found in the world, skeletons used to be adventurers. Probably. Maybe they just got lost, who knows? Long after their passing the magic that permeates the world eventually brought some to life, missing the fleshy bits but that's alright with them, they're here to have fun (results of skeleton fun may vary depending on whether you are a hero or not).

The only dev note we have to say about the skeleton is this: "it was hard". Thats it. Thats the whole thing. Going through designing the walking animation for the alpha was terrible, but it was that kind of terrible that is bad before doing it and takes about ten minutes to do and leaves you wondering why that was so difficult to do (and then absolutely dreading having to redo all the work again). It took a couple hours in reality but it was not as bad as the dread I felt about having to animate it the two weeks it took to actually get to the point of doing it. And then I did it. All this to say, do the creative thing, at the end you may get a dancing skeleton.
